Snow Day and Sledding

We FINALLY got a little bit of snow.  It was the last day of Christmas vacation and the snow started to fall.  While we were watching it come down, Kathryn started to ask for "sled."  We don't own a sled so we borrowed one from our fabulous neighbors and the girls got their first experience sledding.  It was awesome!

First a video of the girls frolicking in the snow and enjoying every second of sledding.

The first year our house has been blue in the snow.

Kathryn liked watching us throw snow in the air.

Happy Jocelyn.

Happy Kathryn.

Christmas Walk

It was a freezing cold night with a huge full moon as we went on our annual Christmas walk.

Another year, another delightful Christmas Day.

Zoolights

It snowed in the higher elevations this December.  The night we went to Zoolights, there was snow on the ground!

Big smile from Kathryn.

This was the only snow that was accessible for playing.  We jumped right in and stomped on it.

Jocelyn was mad about this farm animal display.

Celebration of Lights

We stumbled upon this holiday gem, which is sponsored by a local church.  The Celebration of Lights is a fun combination of the religious and secular parts of the holiday season.  It is free of charge and they give away snacks to all the patrons.  What a pleasure to visit!

Sitting by one of the many fire pits.

I hoped this picture would be better, but who doesn't love twins in a heart?

Heading into the glorious light display.

The theme of the Celebration this year was One Glorious Day.  This family agrees!

Celebration of Lights!  We will be back next year, for sure.

Just a quick family picture at The Grotto.

Alpenrose Dairy

As always, we made the pilgrimage to Alpenrose for Storybook Lane. It was sunny when we arrived but started raining within a few minutes.

Looks like the sleigh is taking a sharp corner.

Jocelyn was brave enough to pet the donkey this year.

Christmas at the Oregon Garden

Christmas at the Oregon Garden has been happening for a few years, but this is our first time visiting during the holidays.  What a great light display!  The night we went was windy and about 20 degrees, but it was an excellent addition to our Christmas fun.

It's a major award!

Frog Pond Farm

We saw a snippet on the news about a local farm that has camels.  Since we are always on the lookout for new animal adventures, this was a perfect location for our next farm visit.  Frog Pond is a Christmas tree farm and has two camels and a big petting zoo.

Have mercy!  It's a camel!

J&K with the camel.

We got him a little food.  I was surprised by how big he was!

Here is a video of Jocelyn's first meeting with the camel of her dreams.  She even tries to feed him.
