January brought us our first cold snap and snow storm of the year. It was a combination of snow and ice, but mostly ice pellets covered the ground. Then we had freezing rain on top it. It hit us on MLK weekend so we were already out of school for a long weekend, but because of the extra cold temps, the snow and ice never really melted and we ended up getting a full week of snow days. We tried to do a little sledding when the weather permitted.
Mostly ice pellets coated the neighborhood on Saturday morning. It was too cold and windy to go outside at all.
We spent the majority of the week in our pajamas. Jocelyn had the table set up with all of her Christmas gifts.
Kathryn loved watching the snow from her chair.
The first time we ventured outside was Monday when the wind died down and the temps went up a bit with the sunshine.
We had another Reindeer Goat Party at our house during December. The weather was unseasonably sunny so it was great to visit with the goats in good weather. Lots of friends came over to visit the goats along with us.
Jocelyn.
Kathryn liked the neck kisses.
Kathryn is a magnet for a goat to stand right on top of her.
