Bernice

We had an unexpected visitor at my parent's house at the end of the summer.  This pigeon, who appeared to be an escaped pet, came to hang out one day.  We lured her over with some bird seed treats and named her Bernice as an homage to Bert's pet pigeon on Sesame Street.  Bernice spent a good portion of an afternoon with us, both on the sidewalk and watching over us from the neighbor's roof.

Dad luring Bernice in with snacks.

She even ate out of his hand!

Jocelyn spent lots of time communing with Bernice.

Pretty Bernice.
