4th of July

Usually we spend 4th of July in Vancouver at my parent's house, but this year the city outlawed all fireworks.  Plus, my parents are in the process of moving back to Oregon to be closer to us.  So, we made a quick trip up to visit and have lunch, but we did all of our fireworks at home.  This was also the first year we took the girls to the Tigard Fireworks Show at Tigard High School.  Instead of crowding onto the football field with the rest of the town, we made ourselves comfortable in one of the school's tennis courts.  The girls could roam around freely and safely and watch the fireworks in a contained space.  It was so fun to see them enjoy the big fireworks.

Kurt, Papa and the girls watching fireworks in our cul-de-sac.

Kathryn enjoyed all of the excitement and I got some good pictures of her.

Just a girl sitting in the grass.

K&J sitting together for a brief moment.

I love that they are both inadvertently making weird faces in this one.
