Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp

We signed up to go to Mt. Hood Kiwanis Family Camp again this year.  Unfortunately, they didn't have enough families participating to hold camp this year so they offered a one day excursion for those of us who wanted to attend.  Kathryn wasn't quite herself in the weeks after her seizure so we let her stay with my parents and took Jocelyn by herself.  She was a happy girl to be back at camp.  This year, she even participated in the physical activites that we only watched last year.  The zip line and the flying squirrel required a body harness, which were a problem for us last year because neither girl would put one on.  However, we learned that Joce would wear hers for the activity, but had to take it off between events because she didn't like to wait while wearing it. Problem solved!  She got to swing on the flying squirrel and went all the way to the top of the trees.  She did the zip line.  Then we did some horseback riding and swimming.  It was a great day for all of us!

We stopped at an out of the way gas station on the way to camp and found this chicken hanging out in the parking lot.

When we arrived at camp, this bunny was hopping around the main lodge.

Up she goes!

At the very top!

Horse time.

Jocelyn looking lovingly at the horse she was about to ride.

One of the horse activities was to paint this horse.  Apparently the horse loves the attention.  Joce was skeptical.
